^ yeah even a full JP setup doesnt claim that much gain, and this was just a non-cali spec set of headers and a dats pipe. I know that that stuff frees up a lot of power, but 50 WHP? thats like 80-90 crank horsepower... it just seems like there were other problems before that were addressed at the same time. I dont doubt you, it just seems so weird.

^ the only thing that was changed, was the exhaust, nothing else.

Why would i lie about that?

How the fuel pump upgrade can give you 20 extra whp just itself ? I just wonder...Are your AFR are the same ?

I wonder also how some new headers (JPP setup for Gen 2) will react on a N/A engine. Hope to see some good result at the high end (let's say proportionaly to yours...a fraction of your average gain whp)

yea, the fuel pump allowed the tuners to run it a bit richer up top, before it was running lead at 200whp at the top end...

King (eye8pussies) was at the dyno shop when i did my recent dyno.
The AFR now is more up to par than it was before, before the fuel pump.

I thought the power was in a lean mixture...but people don't use lean mixture to avoid knocking..especially on air induction engine...and also a lean mixture will end in a extremely hot temp that could burn internals.

Too rich is not good either not enough air to get a good explosion...I know it goes in the 2 ways...hurry to see some improvement in my setup with JPP exhaust system ! Congrats for your setup ! By the way, what was the dyno brand ? Dynojet or Mustang Dyno ?

Forget about the question I just saw it is a Dynojet dyno

50 whp is more like 62 hp ( I use a rule of thumb of 80% (20 % power loss)

^ when people convert whp to bhp, it's just to make themselves feel better.....the only time you use bhp is when you're explaining to non-car people how much power your car has....

lol

as for the differences in his dyno runs...I was there, and I fully understand it...especially after seeing how my supercharged auto solara ran with cali-spec headers...a rather disappointing, yet fully expected 181whp.

without a full exhaust and upgrades, a non-cali spec would expect at least 190whp, whereas the benchmark for a non-cali-spec car with full exhaust and a tune would expect 200whp.

If the solara was mine, I would have jumped on the jpp groupbuy, but since it's going to my sister's, I'm sure she'd be happy with the 181whp and 200ft/lbs of torque ;)

also on a note that people should realize....with the 1mzfe, when NA, the car should make more torque than hp. BUT when boosted, it should make more hp than torque.

If the car is making more torque than hp when boosted, then there is something wrong and restrictive with the setup, since our cars make hp at higher rpms. case in point- dawgz, case

one must also remember that when it comes to boost, all performance increasing OR decreasing elements are exponential compared to when NA

from what ive read on the net, on a N/A engine, if u do exhaust modifications, as extensive as headers, u will loose low end power....But it really shines on a FI application.

Feel free to correct me if im wrong, anyone.
