EBAY intake = garbage!

I have an OBX intake, and it's going for pretty cheap on ebay. Look up obx intake for the '97 camry. From what I can tell, it's just like the injen, minus the carb sticker, but it easily passes smog if you know a "blind" smog guy.

The small hose is a purge line for the EVAP system. It's an "exit only" so you don't really need it hooked up. The other end of that hose connects to a VSV (vacuum switching valve) that opens occasionally to purge the system.

Other than that, you get what you pay for, don't hate on a product if you bought it cheap knowing that it was CHEAP. :D

At least it has a hole for the MAF. some of the crappy ones ive seen on eBay don't even have that lol.

Technically you don't NEED three holes for tubes on the intake...

Best cheapest thing I ever did for my car was get my Injen SRI.

cool, I'm glad it's only the evap hose... damn evap system... I bought the car and the cel light turned on because of the evap... it doesn't work properly anyways... what I do is leave the gas cap a quarter turn loose so the vapors can get out, older cars that didn't have evap systems just had holes in the gas cap to let the vapors out... so i'm sorta bypassing the evap system... so it technicaly should't even be engaged... therefore rendering the line useless and inoffensive if not plugged in. correct me if i'm wrong.

thanks guys

and yeah I cheaped out on the springs too...

the opportunity cost is low and it it works... that's the important part... that it works.. even if it's not well.

for 430$ shipped I got struts + springs that technically should be stiffer than stock. that's what I'm looking for. they are canuck motorsports and springtech shocks. no point investing more than what I paid for the car.

if it breaks it's cheaper to replace... what we learn in economics class...lol

I also bought obx exhaust that i'm installing 2morrow morning ill post pics & stuff

Since we're on the topic of crappy parts..

I got Intrax lowering springs when I replaced my shocks with Tokico. Now whenever I turn my wheel sharp like when going through neighborhoods or a parking lot they creak very loudly and no one is really sure why. Some think that they gave me springs for an I4 Camry (i dont think this is the case all the ordering info was correct), some think it's the ball bearings on my strut mount.

I bought Intrax cuz they lowered 1.6" front 1.5" back, more than Eibach, and I had read that they were on the "cheaper but not crappy" side.

So, reader beware when buying Intrax.

SirThomas8,

Your Intrax springs probably make noise because the coils are rubbing on each other. Eibach, Tein and others use rubber insulators to keep their springs from making noise. I don't think your Intrax springs have them.

There should be a tiny nipple from the intake that you put the hose on.

^^
You see the clear braided hose that connects to the intake??
The little black hose is the "lonely hose" you have hangin' around.
There should be a nipple on the intake for it....

put the stock box back on for more power or at lease drill a hole in the intake and connect the hose.

Here 35 bucks intake that works.
