Hello all,

I was just wondering who here has installed the trunk flip kit on their solara? I was thinking of purchasing one. I just wanted to know if it was difficult to install or is it direct plug and play.

All helpful responses appreciated.

Thanks! :D
That's what she said...

you must do this

if you dont add a dead bolt/ slide lock, your trunk will lift in the back near the windshield when you close it

other than that...this mod is easy to do and very inexpensive

Probably the same reason as the lambo doors....something different (at least till everyone else does it) No real functional advantage....just for show.

For the ultimate in ridiculousness as far as doors and trunk check out this Accord....and say to yourself "Why??????"

I remember it was very popular at car shows when I was in high school. People would have the trunk up showing their subs.

seems like a waste to me. i would have to make fun of someone if i saw that in person. the good news is that you can get all of the parts for this mod at walmart or home depot.

that accord is hilarious...

some people want their rides to be different, some want speed, some want looks, some want sound, hella flush, JDM style, and so on

So many different things you can do with a car...this is just an attempt to show creativity and be unique

With this mod are you still able to open/close the trunk like normal if you have the dead bolt installed like kenny posted? Just pulling the bolt so it would flip down when wanted...

yeah with the dead bolt, the trunk will open like OEM, but mainly the point of the dead bolt is to prevent the back side of the trunk from lifting up when you close it
