Rebored Throttle Bodies

Rebored Throttle Bodies

Postby angmedic911 » Tue Nov 17, 2009 10:44 am

I a newbie to Solaraguy, but am an active member of Club Lexus. I'm here due to the similarities of the Solara and the 3rd Gen ES300. Has anyone dealt with or modified their throttle body. A fellow CL member found this company. http://www.proflowdesign.com/tbtoy.htm
Has anyone bought from this company or another similar company. Im thinking about getting it done on my car.

WELCOME!

Midias has one and I believe trd4life, maybe others too.

Are you supercharged?
Trust me, I'm a technician.

^Solara90, I'm sure ProFlow could rebore one for you. However, you'd need to provide them with a core to work with, which would require you to buy/ship them an extra one or pulling the one on your car off long enough for them to rebore it and fit a new throttle butterfly plate. Contact them for details.

Well

If you have one, prepare yourself.... LMAO

Nothing bad to say, actually a lot of good things.

1) with other mods (i.e: Intake, exhaust, Throttle Body spacer), you can notice gains throughout the powerband, in fact, it may seem as if it spreads the power in the mid to upper RPM's smoothly.

2) I have noticed better gas mileage... my car has over 180k miles... still gives me about 320-375 miles to a tank on premium.

The immediate effect you will notice is the response, its almost immediate.

Like I stated, with the other mods you can gain a foreseeable 10 ponies I'd say....
Geeks get it done, while Nerds whimper and call for mommie.

Midias, you said they have them in stock. Do you mean I can just buy one from them without sending one? That would be cool, then all I would have to do is unbolt my original one and bolt on the one they send me. Brian and everyone thanks. I guess I'll be getting one soon.

Send them an email or call but last time I talked to them they had extras in stock and you did not need to send one first.

Thanks alot bro for the info, heard a lot of good things about you from a fellow Club Lexus member, goes by LEXMEX on CL. I read an old post of yours about this throttle body from Proflowdesign. You stated that your RPMs were high, do you still have that problem? Is it resolved and if it is, how did you resolve it. I also read on that same thread, that others didnt have that problem. Thanks again.

Yes I resolved the problem I had to grind a little of the throttle body outer shell away so the plate would close a little more. I am sure proflow would have fixed it but is was such a little problem I just fixed it. I think mine was a fluke.
