My boys 08 Accord V6 (auto) rated at 270HP from Honda couldn't beat my 5 speed Solara when I was boosted at 4psi with no other mods. I had several runs from a stand still and on that alone I gained almost 2 car lengths. from a rolling start I still accelerated a bit faster but not by much, maybe 5-10 MPH difference. So in short, a 4psi 5 speed Solara with no other mods could walk all over a V6 Accord (at least the auto you could take time and time again). Oh, and VTEC is over rated, I had a 96 Accord and I heard VTEC but didnt feel crap. It was a 5speed.

No doubt the auto accord is similar to the auto solara and puts down a lot less WHP. The manual lays down about 240 whp stock and the auto about 210.

I have driven a 03 Accord EX V6 with the auto and when I floor it, at high rpms, there is an afterburner effect.

It really is a fast car, the power is right there and I could smoke over half the competition at my local drag strip with it. But then again most people who go to the 1/8th drag run 10.0 seconds on average anyway. The Accord should be able to do the high 9s.

  Glad I cleared up some confusion. :D

Lol if the Accord were to be made to do 9s in the 1/4 mile, the amount of work needed would be of epic proportions.
