99 solara v6 5spd have vvti (vtec)

as far as 6cyls go:
the 1mz does not have vvt-i
the 3mz does have vvt-i

so you all are saying that stock for stock a 2000 honda accord v6 coupe will out run a 2000 solara v6? thats disappointing. i guess i need to do some mods to fix that.

Auto vs auto they are about the same manual solara will take any 2000 accord they had no manual V6 option. But 03 and up will rape solara face with a 6 speed.

Both 200 hp both 200 tq. But the 03 and up are 240 hp and the o8 and up are about 270 both vtec V6. My father has a 09 6mt V6 accord coupe and it is flippin fast. Had fun raping a CTS 6 speed

I think I read the accord does 0-60 in about 5.9 (I think C&D pulled a 5.6) and the 1/4 in ~14.5

No wonder my 99 v6 5sp feels slow compared to my 97 maxima 5sp stock that did 15.1 @ 91. What's the dyno curve on this engine look like?

Around town, this thing's got no tq in the low and med range. I can't imagine what an Accord would feel like if they depend on vtec. :agrue:

My boys 08 Accord V6 (auto) rated at 270HP from Honda couldn't beat my 5 speed Solara when I was boosted at 4psi with no other mods. I had several runs from a stand still and on that alone I gained almost 2 car lengths. from a rolling start I still accelerated a bit faster but not by much, maybe 5-10 MPH difference. So in short, a 4psi 5 speed Solara with no other mods could walk all over a V6 Accord (at least the auto you could take time and time again). Oh, and VTEC is over rated, I had a 96 Accord and I heard VTEC but didnt feel crap. It was a 5speed.
