Is there some headers i can get without the high flow cat.? Because i wanna be able to pass the smog test everyyear with the hassle of putting on and taking it off.

Thanks :bday:

Wit the high flow cat you should be able to pass smog, I think.

you may want to check out OBX product line up before you commit to buying the jpp set.

the OBX exhaust set was modeled after the jpp, IIRC.

i don't know if you're NA or boosted, or if you're looking for just headers or a full exhaust system, but for the price difference, it's worth considering the OBX.

Not with the Jpp cat from what I remember. It needs an o2 sim or some antifoulers so it may not pass the sniffer.

You have three header choices

Jpp
OBX
Ebay china special.

I have a 99 v6 California Solara with aftermarket headers from ebay. I still use my 99 Solara cat and have never failed a California smog test. I also have a CPE intake and throttle body spacer. Never failed. This year I'll have to find another checker because the place I always used is under construction.

The trick is to have a visual inspection first and if they don't say that you are not legal then you should be good to go. The generally ask for the suppliers decal to indicate it is California legal. If they don't like what you have then go to another location.

is the rest of your exhaust stock?

I had a custom Y pipe and could't pass if my life depended on it.

I have custom y pipe. Each pipe at the lower end of the headers run parallel for a short way then into a true Y to the single pipe. The rest of my exhaust is stock. No problems.

Thanks to whomever fixed my replies. I tried to use the X on one reply and I still couldn't delete. As for my original reply, I couldn't find any way to delete it.

I live in Burbank and just past with SC..Custom Y pipe..Injen Ram. Never had a problem as far as *visuals* go. I do have stickers for SC and Injen. Nothing on Y pipe though, but it's not conspicuous either. :D

Just to be clear, OBX is usually lumped into the "Ebay China special" in most car communities (SG excluded, it seems.)
