So i checked everything, for some reason its like the horn switch won't initiate the horns. I tried the panic button on the keyfob and they work. any ideas? all associated fuse/relays seem to be good forgot to mention that i searched..... nothing popped up

Nice I glanced at the title and read "hot mom working". I guess my mind is really far in the gutter.

Sounds like you need to check the connections behind the wheel but I am not sure where they are I would get a manual with a nice wire diagram.

Did you check to see if the horn relay clicks when you push on the horn?

Hopefully the clock spring in your steering wheel isn't bad.

i hear the button clicking. i figured i would check the circuit and see if there's 12vdc at the horn. if so then i have bad horns. one of them went bad a month or so ago..

It's not bad buzzers....unless you can hear them struggling to make noise. Keep in mind that the factory alarm horn is separate from the other ones. The alarm horn is located close to the firewall on the passenger side, while the other two are behind the grill, and fender.

My guess is the output wire from the horn relay is burned somewhere, thus making your horns non-functional. Before you assume that though, go back and check ALL your fuses. Don't merely check the ones related to horn.....grab a needle nose pliers, and pull out ALL of them to check....both the interior and exterior fuses .

I hear you, but I'm going to check the whole circuit out, before I start pulling fuses, if the horns are shorted, which I think they are, since they did sound faint last time I heard them, I'm going to replace them with new ones, and hopefully that is it.

Thanks for all your insight, keep the ideas coming, cuz I'm sure I may overlook something

Horns don't generally "short"....they ground from where their mounted, and they get a 12volt pulse from a single wire plugged into the side.

For now, keep it simple and just check all your fuses before you go out and replace horns that might not need changing. I changed the horns in my lara, but only becuase I didn't like the stock ones.

Found the problem, and fixed it....

The main lead wire was rusted out at the horn, I cut it back about 1/2 an inch at a time looking for non-corroded wires, but no luck.

I got fed up, and went straight to the relay/fuse panel (its a b*tch to pull that one out and get to any wire), definitely not for the faint of heart... there is a green wire with a black line, and silver dots on it, which is the 12v out from the relay to the horns, This I verified with my multimeter, so being the electronic technician I am, I cut the wire, spliced in a new green wire, and ran that to a new set of horns (yeah I also removed the one behind the driver's side foglight, permanently, moved it out front too).

Now I have that old Cadillac sound out of my horns.... problem fixed!

Thanks to all who gave me some ideas, and indications to resolve the problem, and I was kinda right from the beginning :evilbat: he he he...
