SAFC Airflow Readings

SAFC Airflow Readings

Postby Eye8Pussies » Sat Mar 22, 2008 10:20 am

for those with an safc/neo...

what readings do you get during:

- idle?
- cruising?
- WOT?

I know the numbers will differ, but I'm trying to get a general idea.

my 94 ecu/MAF setup is different from the later years and I think that's why my ecu rejected my tune/safc adjustments.

you want to know what the correction % reads at those different throttle positions??

If so, mine are:

Idle: 3.0 - 4.5
Cruising: 4.5 - 5
WOT: 22 - 24

thanks, but I'm not looking for the adjustment numbers actually. I need the actual MAF readings that the SAFC is getting

well with my 3.3 camry which uses a supra maf and safc i am getting 37.5 airflow at WOT, my soalra was hitting 70% with the supra maf at WOT, and my old camry was hitting 85% at wot on the stock maf. Airflow at idle is always 2%

Glad I finally found this post! I recently asked a similar question, but no one is *home*! Don't recall idle exactly, but it's under 5%....cruising is probably 10-20%. However, at WOT (100% throttle reading) I got a snap shot on my SAFC at 71.6% @ 6500 RPM (hit rev limiter cut off!). It really depends on temps, since you're measuring MAF..which depends on DENSITY. The temp was around 73 at the time. I saw someone (TRDFORLIFE) got 85%!!! WOW...I don't think I could ever get it that high..even in COLD air.

Ron , in case you were wondering. That was with a similar setup to yours but a 7psi and 3" catback exhaust a 3" y pipe w/ no cat.

That 85% is a HUGE # alright. I have 5.5lb with 2 1/2" Y pipe going into CAT and 3"(I think) Greddy Evo going out. I have another cone filter with a front that's OPEN and tappered inward (J&B). I'll put that back in soon. I wonder if air flow will go up with that?

Unless you have a custom greddy it is about 2.5in maybe a little less I think it is a metric size.

my power jumped form 260whp to 274whp with the addition of the 3" catback over the Greddy EVO i had on there at first.
