First Car and Want opinions

In my opinion, the Camry Solara isn't much special a car by itself. It's the modifications that are available for it that MAKES it special. Really good race-oriented stuff, too.

I also believe that ricers shouldn't own Solaras, because they're just too nice cars to add fart cans and dumb body kits and wings to.
2000 Camry Solara V6SE.

hahaha, sorry, it was late

what I was trying to say, is that I am probably going to get a lip bodykit (because my car is stock) and just do some interior mods to it (me and my friends had some ideas about it, but we dont know yet.)

I do not have pic of the car yet, because it isnt technecally in my postion yet because I live on the east coast and its one the west coast (reason being is because it was my familys but my grandmother passed away a few weeks ago (so I am now have ownership of lara) and I havent shipped over because I was going to use it instead of a rental while I am over there for her funeral.) so I should be getting it by end of May, and then I will take pics a post , also I will keep a day to day pic update of all the mods me and my friends do.

btw, not going to tell you the mods, want to see if they work first before I start to boost about them XP hahaha, we will see.

Also, I am not spending very much money on the car because I am (like I said before) saveing up for a S2000 or a Ninja R650

Don't forget over sized sideways fart cannons :)

Welcome to the board READ THE STICKIES use the SEARCh and everyone will get along just fine. Enjoy the nice car.

i hope (for your sake) that you're not thinking about doing the 'electric supercharger' or the 'tornado' mods.

i'll save you the money right now, they don't work.

otherwise, the coast-to-coast return trip should give you a good time to get aquainted with your car. i'd say for a 16 y.o. who is getting a solara for their first car, focusing on the interior and other stuff (than performance) is a great idea.

work on audio, tint, and lighting, then suspension and performance...in that order. for a 16 year old, you'll learn a lot about modding if you go about it in that order, plus, if you do it right, it'll look/sound clean as soon as you get it tinted.

plus just doing some of the more 'simple' mods (like audio) actually turn out to be more difficult (i.e. rear speaker swap), and will give you a good bit of knowledge on working on your car.

I didnt even know there was such think as an electric super charger? and what the heck is a tornado kit (btw, if you havent guessed, those arent the mods I was talking about :-? )

If you really must know, I was thinking about either getting a, touch screen nav in or (this is where the "it depends" comes in) a computer all together. Reason I had this idea, is because I am a really techy person (not nerd) just like tech, so I was thinking about puting computer in the center consel and a flat screen monitor on the passenger side, or something of that sort, I still havent seen the inside of the car, so I havent made drawing ideas, but once I get the car and can make the prints, I will post them up :D

You probably think this is a stupid crazy idea, but idk, I think it would be neat. it would have a tunning software and other attached along with the basics of a computer, plus, I can put a dj software on there so I can hook up the amp and the aduio to it. :D

whats your thought about this (I wanted a secound open because I am afraid to do this and loss the class/ make the car to ricey

Yes, that's what you want to do when you're 16: tell every cop on the planet how to find you.
Take your savings out of the bank and keep it with you for bail.

technically there IS NOT a electric supercharger...they are bilge pumps that are labelled as 'superchargers' (superchargers compress air, not just move it around).

the tornado is that "cheap" mod (for 80 bucks) that had a cross section of aluminum can with fins cut into it to 'increase airflow' by making the air charge more aerodynamic as it entered the intake plenum.

both are complete wastes of money, and i love to hear the con artists try to sell their snake skin oil, when they're called on it not working.

a mac mini is both cheap and compact....it should be able to fit under the pass side seat and have enough capacity/performance to do anything your car would need.

i've considered doing a carputer before....but i haven't had the motivation yet.

also, you might want to consider your first mod being a tint job. i wouldn't put a screen in my ride if any person can see through my windows.

that's just me though.

i still say you should upgrade your audio system first. then worry about doing a carputer install after you get it tinted.
