^ It's a broken rear strut mount.

Or rather, with mine, I noticed I didnt have one on one rear one for my factory struts when we dissassembled them a while back so we used a nut that fit over the shaft underneath. It just about matched the other size height/diameter wise. This should have been ok?

The spacer looks like a very short piece of pipe I think about 1/2 inch long and it goes under the nut over the strut mount.

At first I thought it was the coilover.

Found out that it was the muffler making contact with whatever is around it because it wasn't welded to the exhaust hanger.
Made the Fix then the knocking stopped.

Right, just wondering if the nut I used to improvise as a spacer is ok long as its the same general dimensions.

Anyway, glad to hear the knocking was your exhaust. I was tempted to suggest that, as my megan catback likes to hit the frame. I've tried adjusting the position on the hangars and I even put some sound deadening where it was hitting, so will see how that does.
