No V6 with a drum sounds like someone rebadged it at some point to make people think it had a v6.

My advice, sell it and buy new car, do not waste your time, your car has been in an accident it will make you headache on and on.

Next time if you buy Toyota, buy V6 3.0 or VVT-i 3.3, the gas consumtion of Toyota's engine compare i4 to V6 = 9/10, for example i4 take 9 litre per 100 mile the V6 will take 10, only 1 level different, folks think v6 take more gas yes its take only a little little more but its faster its better much better than I4 engine.

You gotta trust Toyota, my Solara 2001 SLE V6, i go work everyday, drive and drag race alot, 1 tank last me 8 or 10 days, if only go work, 2 weeks. Always fill full tank for less gas consumption.

If you like I4 engine or 4cyl, you should have bought Toyota Celica, Honda Civic SI, Acura RSX, Acura Integra, Huyndai Tuburon or Mitshubishi Eclipse. These are good with I4 and Vtech engine, yes they are gas saver whole, its even better if you drive them with 5speed stand Tranmission.

Because Solara is the Camry's brother, they are the same they are Lexury, Solara with an I4 engine cannot run, imagine if Ford or Chrysler with 4cyl, you know why American's car drink gas like beer ? cause the body is too heavy to run, its safety but its ugly. Body and style of Solara is almost same like that, with an SLE V6 Solara = King of Freeway, its stable its smooth no noise and its fast ofcouse.

You know Acura TL 3.2 ? our Solara its exactly the same to them but we only need 3.0 see how cool is Toyota ? its ok if you buy Solara 2004+ gen2,It is VVT-i 3.3 Lexus Engine, gen2 uses alot of automatic and censor so compare V6 to VVT-i its also 9/10 aswell as I4 compare to V6.

Gen2 Solara can compare to Infiniti G35/37 our Gen Solara only 3.3 but Infiniti G35/37 is 3.5 see how good is Toyota again ? Toyota is also gas saver whole, they Make Things Better , they think about our Pocket $

ehh i guess.. Kinda reaching cuz TL and the G35 are better performing cars and are on different classes and are far more luxurious. so its not really a fair comparison.

HERE'S MY GUESS: the side accident had the person replace with a body panel from a v6 salvage car. hence, the v6 badging (which was removed).

as far as the engine and the plugs...well, i don't know how to explain that......hopefully ya'll can figure it out.

You can't compare the Solara to a G35/37. True it's a 3.3 vs a 3.5 but the G37 pulls more than 100 ponies over the solara!

I do agree with one thing though: scrap this car and get another (if you have the $$$)

Kinda not a Tiptronic, its like a Manual 3 speed without an O/D, Acura TL has Tiptronic ;) their car the most is Tiptronic, anyways buy new car but check the history before you pay.
