I have a 02 sle conv with 92k. I have had it since January ans aside from needing a new top, I have loved this car to death. The tops is only up when is raining, no excuses.

154 miles ? hmm not too much, just maintenance and take a very care of, you're car will be fine, all you have to do is check Trans Fluid, change engine oil every 4-5 miles, use Synthetic mobil 1, its little more cost but its worthy, change Tranmission Fluid every 35-45 miles, check the Spark-Plugs once awhile too.

My old Solara 99 has about 260+ miles on it, so its about 300k+ Km, its still run great and still strong, didnt check it lately cause i gave it to my sister. Trust the Toyota, as long as you care for it it will last forever.

I saw folks are still driving those old Toyota Cressida, Previa, Corrola 1987, lol one day one of the wheel will come off ;)

What is even more sad than seeing a faded top, is seeing the top at all. Unless there is rain, the top should be down. That is why you have a heater, lol. Great times.

UPDATE!!

Postby highmileage02sleConv » Fri Oct 09, 2009 3:58 pm

My Solara now has almost 159k on it and has had alot of work done on it this summer. Brake Master, fixed a leak in the compression system....Tires, lets just say Dad isn't too sure of the car anymore.. it well probally be gone come spring, the mileage and the bills are getting too high. The first few years he had the car he was commuting every day to NYC and the wear n tear on it shows. Any suggestions to help me convince him that the car is safe for 400+ mile trips?

Update! 168K as of this week and she might be retired in the next 6 months, taking it in for a oil change tomorrow and to talk to my mechanic to see if I can put $600 into it and get another year out of it. It has become a piggy bank and the EVAP issue is driving me nuts! Suggestions?

Mine is a 2002 with 107k

It has a black top that still looks good but I was curious if you or anyone else can recommend a way to keep that black looking black. :)

I have a 99 SLE with more than 226,000 miles. Got it off an old lady with 195,000 for $1500 & I've only invested like a little bit over $1000 an had it for a year & a half.
