How much of a gain............

Ok i know this topic exists somewhere in this site, But the wonderful "Search" feature didn't bring up anything relevant. Heres my question, How much of a gain in hp or torque do the CAI's or SRI's really give you??? NOT including the CP-E. Im talking about the Injen, K&N, ...etc. I know you guys have the answer to this. Thanks.

pretty much...none. maybe 1 or 2 at the most if you're lucky.

it only makes a difference when you start sucking in air faster than the stock airbox can provide- i.e. boost

lol, I'll be honest, I have an Injen, and I don't know for power, but it may of given me quicker throttle response. It just seems to realize I need to go fast well, faster lol. It won't make me go faster =[ It kinda looks cool though when you pop the hood of an Avalon and see an Injen SRI and a Solara Strut Bar :)
are avalons supposed to be this fast?

You may not notice a difference with short ram, but when I made my injen aCAI, I noticed a little more low end power.

do not believe manufacturer's websites. they post results because they have to show results.

a cai will not show anything close to a 5whp increase in power. I can guarantee that. It may move the powerband to the right a bit though.

and even more so if you say that you experienced more low-end-power...because even according to theory, a cai will only help on high-end power and actually hurt low-end power. On that particular point as well, I noticed that my cai hurt low-end power, and even more so when I put in a larger filter that didn't hurt intake of the air (i.e. no sucking sound at all), but it makes my high-end scream. This, of course, is compounded my by s/c where it needs to suck in a lot more air as it spins at a higher speed. Luckily I hardly feel the loss of my low-end torque now that I have a 5-speed though. But as an auto, the CAI hurt on launch for sure.

Wit a regular SRI, if you don't have a heat shield you'll be suckin' in hot air from the engine.
My friend has a Spectre intake system, and it's just like an INJEN intake, he wants a CP-e just like mine.
IMO, if you want an intake save up alot of money and buy one, it's better than the INJEN.

Isn't spectre sold at Advance auto? Not sure that I would trust any intake at advance auto over an Injen. Or, are these the ones that are custom built?

Maybe we should try to do another "Group Buy" for the CP-E's!!!! What you guys think? My car does not need a noise maker. It needs more power for sure!
