Ultra Racing headers!!!

Well I was interested in expanding the options for headers and i know no body want to pay over a grand for a nice set of headers so UR is taking a set of solara headers for both gen 1 and gen 2 and custom fabricating there own. now before i do this I want to know how many people are actually interested. the price for these headers will be in between $299, and $399.

Warning - Noob question below:

What would be the advantage over the OEM headers?

Better exhaust output from the engine hence better performance?

Could you quantify the increase in hp/torque?

Thanks,
Mazen

not a bad idea...but now that the new obx headers are out and they're the same price and fit perfectly and are of good quality....where's the market?

tell them to stick to the gen2s and they'll probably be able to make some money

I agree with King, there's already the new OBX 's out which fit perfectly and are cheap.

Yes

Kinda hard to give a hp increase on an item that does not exsist.

For rew

What engines and would they include a cat? I would say the 4cyl market would be the most profitable both for ease of install being a buying factor and wanting more power.

Have you installed them with the engine in the car I have been thinking about getting a set but the install will be a PITA. I am thinking the upper manifold will come off again.

In doing so, have you ever held the XERD manifolds in person or seen intricate photos of them? Just asking.

wow I wanna see you try to mount them with out getting down the engine because the header from the back is so big comparing to the stock that is kind of impossible to throw it with the engine on the car. I know the front one is possible but the rear one isn't.

all rear headers will be hard to install just due to the way the engine is mounted and tilted in the engine bay.

it doesn't matter what the design, even oem are hard to take off an install, so that's a moot point.

as for making them like the xerd headers- good luck. get some prototypes out and then see if you can keep it the same price range. Long runners cost a lot more money and so do long collectors, and if the collectors are short, then it makes the entire xerd design moot since you'll end up losing all the torque again with a short collector and long runners.

Yeah I have been looking for an I4 header made specifically for the gen 1 solara. JPP used to make them but discontinued and ebay only has them for the camry.
