Very odd problem

Very odd problem

I have a 99 Solara with a v6. This only occurs intermittently, but I will go to start the car and it will turn over and start, but then die almost immediately. The shop ran a diagnostic and it didn't come back with anything. Any ideas?

Thanks for the quick replies. Just have a couple more questions. Is this a common problem on Solaras? Also, is the MAF the same as an O2 Sensor or are they different parts? Thanks for the help!

Mine did it at one point in time.
Your MAF is the sensor on the other side of the butterfly valve on your intake. Your O2 sensors are on your header, manifold, and past the cat.

Have you done SeaFoam???

It's pretty common on most cars. My Supra had that problem, luckily it was just a clogged vacuum hose.

The picture is broken. What is it $6 at Autozone?

I think my 2001 has the same problem, mostly happening with a hot engine and I have to restart a couple times and give some gas.

JZWU- it sounds to me like your throttle body may need cleaning

Thanks for the suggestion.

I was trying to figure out the problem. I may do it myself. It doesn't sound too difficult since I do brakes, change spark plugs, PCV myself.
