My turn...

Like many others, my bank 2 knock sensor blew. How unsafe is it to drive my car under these conditions? I have a road trip in about a week and need to take care of this before I go away. For starters, I know my car lags a lot and the only way it accelerates quick is if I gun it but that's not something I plan on doing with a CEL on.

If you keep the revs low as in under 3k you might be ok. I know when my car had the problem it was running pig rich and the ignition advance would not go above 3 degrees for safety. If it was me I would just get the parts to fix it from the local autoparts store and get it done one afternoon. OR at a minimum wire the two together at the ecu with some quick connects that can be undone later and put back to stock.

Is this easy to do? Maybe I could do it myself.

Without knowing what skills you have I would not be able to recommend one or the other. Do you have experience with mechanical items and confidence to remove the supercharger? Or going the other way can you solder? do you feel like if you cut a wire you could repair it?

Yeah if I cut a wire I could repair it but I'm uncertain if I could put the supercharger back together.

What I would probably do then is cut the wire for the bad knock sensor and make sure to leave plenty on both sides for reconnect. Then I would cut the wire for the good sensor solder in a quick disconnect and then using quick disconnects attach the signal wire from bank 1 to both ports on the ecu for both bank 1 and 2. Look in my sig for the CPE info I would probably solder in the spade lug (quick disconnect) in the same way I did for the CPE install. Then when you get the wires fixed all you have to do is unplug the ecu wire from bank 2 and plug it back into the signal wire. Hopefully my cool MSPAINT picture will help. Also can someone chime in and make sure I said the correct thing?
