yeah the 1mz's that were put in the the camry's and es300's later had vvti, but not ours. - haha random tidbit but the es300's also had plastic intake manifolds

no sir...
no VVTi on the V6 solara until 2004 (gen 2) when they went to the 3mz-fe 3.3L
the camry V6 and ES300 V6 1mz motors recieved VVTi in 2003-2004, where as the highlander and avalon recieved it way back in 2000-2001...solara development follows the camry development

Nope.
VVT-i helps wit top end.
2000 Solara SE auto V6. Diamond White Pearl.
Top Speed Run finished at 130 mph. :o
Too many modifcations for the signature.

It helps with low end torque too, but not worth the $$$ on a VVTi swap.
