looking to purchase an aftermarket shift knob for my 99 solara 5-spd. does anyone know the bolt / thread size of the shifter shaft?

uhm, check with the autozone clerk, they may be able to pull up on their little computer something like that (hell, they can pull lug bolt sizes, compatable tranny fluids, and most other obscure bits of vehicle compatable info).

but i'm an auto, so i can't really help you

Yeah I wondered this too, I just went with the crappy universal threaded ones. I dont recommend those.

I think it is M12X1.25 at least that is what the tundra is. Have you thought of unscrewing yours and checking?

Take your shift knob to a hardware store. They usually have something there to help people figure out the proper thread size when in doubt.
