Brake advice

Ok so I'm in the market for new brakes.

I've looked at previous posts.
Hawks, EBC, Axxis seem to be the 3 I'm looking at.

I've read what others have said about their pads and I'm thinking EBC reds upfront and greens in the rear. The reds are now Kevlar and claim to do well in the cold and hot weather.

Anyone using this combo or have used this combo? What can you tell me about your experience?

Thanks, His Royal Jayness

i'm still a firm believer of the axxis organic pads, and will probably end up putting them on my Z3 too when i have to change the brakes.

if you found my previous posts on the topic, i go into detail why i like them so much.

I did, and I want to keep the dust down as well.
The red EBC claims low dust and I hope someone has the new red's (since made of kevlar) and could tell me how low the dust is.

I'm alittle scared of Organic pads. My sister and my friend put them on their cars and they wore down in 6 months. I don't remember if they were Axxis or not. All I remember is they bought them at Advanced Auto.

i dunno, for me, OEM produced a decent amount of dust. not like, black wheels two days after washing, but within two weeks or so there was a noticable amount of dust. and being that i'm kinda OCD about cleaning stuff like that, i switched to axxis organics.

as for the EBC red pads, i read their description, and they sound good, but my reservation would be that there's nobody around here that has field tested them.

as for the axxis organics i have. lemme just say that i drive like a maniac (if anyone remembers, i just blew up my auto tranny), and i brake late and hard. i have had them for about a year, maybe more (i have the details of when i changed them and how many miles it was, but i'm away from the car right now), and have put significantly more miles on these pads than i have any others (i've driven the lara for 3 years now, and have changed the pads about 3 times, twice in the first 15 months, and then once since).

and mine were definitely the organics, i know of some people who have gotten some of the other type of axxis pads, and they haven't worked out nearly as well (i.e. dust, squeals, and short lifespan).

i will admit, there's a teensy-tiny bit of brake fade. but it's usually only noticable when the rotors/brakes are cold.
