Got my new wires on

Got my new wires on

Got my new plug wires on, been meaning to get this done for a while. They are NGK blue wires, Part number RC-TE65 if anyone needs a nice set, went on well, the old ones were shot. They had 148k on them. They look nice and I'm sure they'll help my MPGs. I was very suprised that I actually got the factory holder piece back on, despite breaking almost all the clips. Lol. My next project is my oil catch can I've had sitting on my table for the past month.

does the intake manifold/SC need to come off before putting these on? Haven't gotten around to doing mine yet and was curious.

I did mine just reaching behind the manifold.

where did you get them from. Its just three wires right? The reason I say that is because previously when I tried to get them they kept advetising that there really is only three wires?

^^ yes there are only supposed to be 3 wires for the v6....

they connect the front and rear banks together from the coil packs, this is to help with sequential combustion, i'm guessing.

and jake, if you're using green coolant, you may want to switch to toyota red. i've heard of our water pumps not liking the green coolant.

akfahad - when i did mine, i did not have to remove the intake manifold. i'm not sure about the s/c, since i don't have one (and they look a bit larger than the intake manifold). it's going to be a tight fit, either way though. i'm lucky enough to have small hands that would fit between the engine and the firewall and was able to still manipulate the wrenches.

Nice man.
Looks good.
No you don't have to take off hte intake manifold to replace wires.
It's kind-of hard to do wit the intake manifold on, but it's still can be done.

No its not green coolant, it has a red tint to it. Seems to do just fine. My mechanic friend who is a Certified Toyota tech, put it in my car.

As for the wires, I didn't remove anything besides the plastic motor cover, Just reached behind on the passanger side for the far left one, and on the drivers side for the other 2. Ran the wires through the stock clips, according to length. Didn't have a problem, although I'm N/A so I'm not sure on how hard it'd be with a blower in the way.
