After installing do you have to reset the mass flow meter in anyway? My friend's mass flow meter is causing all sort of problems and the car actually runs better with it unplugged? It is a Weapon R..

any suggestions would be great. The mass flow meter is 6 mos old.

thanks

You don't have to reset anything (maybe except for the battery/ECU) if you have an intake that's not JUNK.

Weapon R is crap and isn't designed as well as an Injen or a CPe.

well, SHE said it worked fine for a little while, but then went to crap. I haven't looked at it. I will see if it is on backwards. Do you think there could be some gunk in there? I told her to take it off and make sure it was clean. If it is on backwards would it work at all?

If it is anything like my V6 it won't work at all backwards but then again mine will not run with the MAF unplugged.

What year and engine is she running. Weapon R should be fine a fair amount of people run them and like them.

did SHE disconnect the battery?
because ive replaced my exhaust without and it ran fine for a bit then went to crap
then i remembered i didn't d/c and then after i did i let it sit idle for about 10 minutes and now it runs great
i think u need to reset the ecu so it can re-adjust to the increase in air

Are you sure she plucked the MAF and nothing else?? My car won't even start or run beyond 10 seconds without the MAF; found out the hard way when I didn't reconnect it properly after cleaning it.

she told me that this is the third sensor she has gotten, and the one before was doing the same thing. So, it looks like the problem is past the mass flow sensor. The one in the car now is only a week old, so I don't think it has had time to get dirty. It runs super rich when not plugged in.

It is really weird that it even runs with a MAF unplugged.
