3" catback is beneficial, but I think you'll feel/see more of a difference with higher boost levels

Hi,

My name is Gabriel and I was the one who bought Mark's Solara and he referred to this site. Now, he already added the Megan Racing 2.5" Cat Back Exhaust System but this OBX Racing headers are 3.0". Will this have an adverse effect to my car being that the headers are 3" and the catback exhaust system is 2.5"?

It was the drift spec...the n1 style...which is the "fart cannon"...the muffler sounds good...smooth tone, nothing annoying or anything like that...

I think you will be just fine running this system with 2.5 inch piping even boosted. Then you can upgrade to 3 inch when you have time and money.

NO,NO !

The system 2.5 inch:

This auction is for a brand new stainless steel header system for the 99-02 Toyota Solara V6 (1MZ engine). Header is designed from true 304 stainless steel and features larger primaries for better exhaust flow. Collector design revolves around a 2.5" piping design.

So you have not to worry about it

And now i have a question .....
Will this exhaust make more noise? i hate loud noise exhaust, because i drive many Km a week......

I swear that use to say 3 inch but I like 2.5 better I may even consider getting one now if I find out it fits well.

It will probably be louder because it has no cat on it but I bet with the right cat back it will not be bad at all. I would add the megan racing dual tip catback it is said to be very quiet.

Damn, those look great. Yeah the listing used to say 3". So this would work just fine with the TRD muffler? Is there any benefit to using their 3" catback with this? If this works with the stock exhaust, that makes it even more enticing.

The only benefit for a 3 inch catback would be for boosted people for NA 2.5 in fine for the catback. I think even with a stock exhaust all would benefit from this modification provided it fits well. Before I would buy one I would make the seller double check the down pipe size. Makes me want to get one throw it on a lift mod the down pipe for a cat and use it.

That's what I'm thinking. I'm supercharged, so I'm wondering if 2.5" will be beneficial enough to justify the cost...

Isn't the JP setup 3"?
