I realy want to buy this exhaust because my original flexpipe is realy bad and i have a supercharger...so 3 inch pipe will work better for me (i think  )

But....... (maybe a stupid question):

1. When i put this set on my car every thing (incl. sensors) is a direct bold on. But there is a o2 sensor in the cat....because this setup has no cat it is not possible to install it and the ecu will trow error's

-Am i right?

2. Can i drill a hole in the silencer of this setup and put in the cat sensor (from the old one)???

-Is that possible

3. Can someone show a picture of the cat incl. sensor...i have no idea were we talk about

-thanks!!

Everything should be a direct bolt on. Also the sensor for the cat is in the catback not the Y pipe. But if you want to add a sensor port to the Y pipe stainless bungs you can weld in only run about 3 dollars on ebay. To keep the CEL off you would need an o2 simulator or cut out the Y pipe resonator and add a highflow cat.

But sense you asked nice here is a pict of the sensor in the catback as you can see i just got a universal o2 sensor bung and drilled a hole in the pipe and welded it in place.

For max flow I would use a MagnaFlow high flow Converter 3.0" Spun Metallic part number 59959 they run about 100 dollars or a thunderbolt or flow master spin stainless ceramic cat both part number 410300 then run between 40 to 60 dollars. They are all OBD2 and EPA compliant so they should pass an emissions test.

Great, thanks Midias. I'm thinking I'll order this by next weekend. If I do, I'll make sure to post some pics.

OK, called my mechanic and he said it would cost about $180 to replace the headers. Does that sound about right? Here's the setup I'm thinking about going with - let me know if I'm missing anything:
1. OBX headers/y-pipe (resonator removed)
2. MagnaFlow Cat 59959
3. O2 sensor bung welded between Cat and Muffler
4. Borla muffler 40943

I want to keep it fairly quiet - anyone have a suggestion for the muffler.

I am a little confused are you keeping the stock exhaust? If so you will already have the o2 sensor bung installed regardless of what you do to the obx. BTW 180 sounds god and get that in writing because I hear it is a huge pain in the ass.

Lastly if you are not replacing the stock exhaust with 3 inch pipe I would get a smaller inlet muffler unless you plan on going to 3 inch pipe later.

Can you give some more info on your plan and car setup?

I have a boosted (4psi) auto totally stock except for the TRD muffler.

I was under the impression that you can't or shouldn't mix the piping size. I was planning on going 3" all the way back - would that cause a significant loss of low end torque. If I can keep the TRD muffler that would be great. If so, would I only need to add the Cat? Thanks for the help.

180 sounds like a deal. I gave my friends mechanic 100 to take out the cali spec headers and throw the federal ones on.

The rear header....is made for small people...with small hands...otherwise ur gonna end up cursing up a storm. lol.

The TRD muffler would probably be a bit small for 3 inch piping. If I were you I would read through the threads below and follow what I did just for 3 inch pipe and the borla muffler you wanted. Or if you are really lazy or don't feel like going custom you could just pick up the OBX exhaust it is 3 inch stainless piping and it sounds real good not too loud with 2 resonators. Best of all they only run about 300 dollars.

Yup lots of pictures and video in this thread same one as above and check out the ebay link if you want one. I had one not bad at all but 2.5 is better for NA.
