mix

I'de try these one by one in this order.

1. replace fuel filter
2. reset ECU by disconnecting neg termnial for 15-20sec.
3. Clean TB
4. Clean intake manifold

why I say fuel filter first is the age of the car and you prob don't know when it was last changed.

Twice since I have owned it. last time was in the spring, with the fuel line. How do clean the manifold?

What do you guys think about bad gas? My last fill up was in SC it was a low price but the sign on the pump said fuel contains 10% ethanol. I know ethanol gets lower MPG. I'll clean some stuff in the morning. and do a one gallon test.

I cleaned out the Throttle body I was going to do the EGR as well, but it looks like I’ll need a little more light and a little less rain. You guys think a dirty EGR could cause bad economy?

is that funny?....keep your jokes to yourself... well i have a 2.2liter solara and the most i got was 22 city but most of the time i got was 20 mpg.. the best thing you can do is keep with in the speed limit.. use curise control more often.. take off unessecery weight or you can do a weight reduction.. and keep or but lighter rims.... good luck on getting good gas milage

Actually cruise control burns more MPG
i dont know how but it does ( anyone who watches top gear BBC knows about that )

Also dont take the jokes so seriously, especially when not directed towards you. We all need a chuckle from time to time

This is true depending on your geography. The more hills you have, the worse your mpg will be with cruise. Less hills, it doesn't make a difference. Trust me, I've tested this here in Iowa(lots of hills where I live) compared to FLAT, BORING Nebraska.

IME cruise is a bit more abrupt than I am in holding a specific speed, but I can only beat its mileage if I watch my vacuum gauge or "constant" MPG dash monitor - which I find very distracting and only do as a test.
There's nothing special about it, the cruise just uses more throttle angle than you can manually.

I would say 24 c/h is good.
I drive highway 90% of the time and get 24.9 and I'm sc'ed.
