Shocks, Springs, n stuff... help?

Most of these SG guys r telling me I need to lower my ride so I guess im gunna go for it. I just need some advice. The previous owner of my wheels had a rubing problem. He had a solara and it had a 2" drop. 1st off, I do not want to have a rubbing problem. At this point in my budget I cant deal with it. 2nd I need the cheapest way to do it. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

u know what thats the lo profile tire there actually is.

your tires look fat for some reason what about trd springs it's not that much of a drop!

Cheapest way is to buy Tein springs and use your stock struts.

Well, it's all on the specs of your wheels and tires. What are the size of the tires and the dimensions of the rims (particularly offset)?

Yea but look how nice she looks.

It only rubbed when I was going thru the intersection ( that hump in the road ) and driving fast, then it would rub but for a hot second. Plus I had a sub box that weighed almost 100lbs. Other than that, I had no problems.
Plus most guys here put 40's, I only went with 45's cause of possible pot holes.................there's none here!!!!!!

Tokico struts and teins springs is what I had.

Next step stiffer would be Trd's set up.

save your money and do it right with quality struts and nice springs that way you only have to take it apart once and don't forget the alignment.

I know this is an old thread but I didn't feel the need to start a new one. I am getting my Teins I recieved today put on tomorrow. Ill be sure to do a before and efter. And one question. Is there any need to cut the bump stops? Do I need to make sure to tell the shop to do that too?

I have Teins and I cut my bump stops...
Ride is smoother IMO. I don't bottom out as much.

No, don't cut your bump stop. It;s there for a reason. If they are causing an issue, there are things that need to be replaced to stop it from happening.

And I hope your either using new struts, or the current ones do not have many miles on them.

About that. I thought about getting new struts I just don't have the $$ right now. I'm just gonna do the job half assed and hope for the best lol. Oh yeah, and the TEIN manual said to cut them. Thay said, for 99-03 solaras 1" in front and 1.4" in rear.

I wouldn't call it half ass I was exaggerating. Other members have done this setup it seems to be fine. Anyways if it doesn't work out ill fix it. Pics to come tomorrow. I might do a vid of some sort too cuz i don't have anything going on.
