You're not out of your mind, heh... though you could certainly use some paragraph breaks! ;)

With that being said, I'm sure you could get some of these parts fairly cheap. I have an OEM radio from the JBL premium sound system that came with my convertible but I'm still debating on whether to sell it -- if I ever decide to sell my car, I'd like to keep my nav unit and put it in my next car, throw the OEM unit back in the car.

If you have so many issues with this 4 banger car, then buy something else. Make yourself happy. Either that or swap in a 1MZ.

Well a 1MZ swap would be SO not worth it... better off selling the 4 banger and buying a V6, save a lot of money and effort that way.

5S turbo all the way it would be both fun and original. Manifolds are easy to find
Here then just put together a turbo kit (lots of info out there) something like this find a friend who can fab the down pipe and exhaust and go for it with a nice SAFC 2 and possibly some new injectors. Just start with low boost maybe 4 or 5 psi.

Skip the rear mount turbo. You have space under hood and it will perform better that way too.

BTW, there IS a fellow SGer who is selling a 1MZ...REAL CHEAP! Use the search...

Stay front mount you have a crap load of room I cannot imagine why you would try rear mount and search the celica and mr2 forums for more info on injectors and tuning. You can probably get 180 whp fairly easily. Also sense you have an auto slush box I would add a tranny cooler.

Im should be putting a in dash nav/dvd system in my Solara. Its a 2000 SE, head unit is oem and immaculate condition, either that, or even sooner my gf is putting a new single din radio in her 2000 camry. The double dins are basically exactly the same in looks. Let me know if your interested.

^^ You mean when your window goes up and down your window rubbs on the door. If the window is out of position you might want to check out your window regulator...
