supra injectors and MAF problem cured...dyno time!

Postby hskrsolara » Wed Jul 23, 2008 6:34 pm

She's currently at the dyno...about 2 hours away so I couldn't watch her perform tonight. I needed it done this week, so I went to DB performance in Rogers (minneapolis), MN...Shane sounds like he's got everything under control and has been a great guy to work with.

I found a vaccum leak and fixed it, seems to be running just fine. Sounds like the AFR is right around 12...They only ran 3 times today and said they hit 250-260 whp, so I can't wait to see the final results tomorrow!

^^I couldn't because I have to work and can't drive 4+ hours roundtrip today. They're about 2 hours away, but it was the only option. They're fitting it in between other appointments, so they could get it done quicker and thus, I couldn't stay with her.

Well, good news and bad news.

Good: I made 261 whp and 240 ft*lbs torque! Looks like the Supra MAF and injectors really paid off. The power feels very nice. AFR is at 12:1.

Bad: During 2 hour the drive home, I pulled 2 CEL's on my scangauge...PO 325 and PO 330. DAMNIT!!!

The tuners claimed they didn't have any CEL's during tuning and were very careful of the knock, but somehow I pull both knock sensor codes while doing 75 mph on the interestate.

I can't believe it, even with the 330 cc injectors, Supra MAF, Jim's fuel kit, Walbro 190 fuel pump, I still blew the knock sensors. :( Do I have any hope of it being a false reading, or should I just plan on installing both sensors. I was planning on taking the car home this weekend (8 hour drive), will it be ok if I still do? I'm in shock right now.

hey check ur pm...u can thank ASG14(Adam) for finding this.

U can still take ur car home...no worries, but with blown knock sensors...even if u go into boost, itll feel like the stock power it had.
just stay outa boost and ull be good to go.

Man, I feel your pain. I can't belive both sensors went considering your fuel mods. I'm dyno tuning next week with the same upgrades minus the supra MAF, so I'm hoping for the best.

It almost reminded me of an old Chrysler ReliantK a friend in High School had... looks like it "barely" made 60.

Hope you get the problem fixed!
