dats, i'm in

and if it falls through, can you try to get the designs, so that we can add it to our compendium of knowledge, aka solaraguy.com

or if nothing else, can you get the designs for me, so i can fabricate one if this doesnt work out.

and to answer lilm directly, no you do not have to be modified to do it. they are supposed to bolt right up to the stock headers and the stock exhaust. if you have an aftermarket exhaust, then it should still fit up (as midas, he is constantly trading out exhausts, and he rolls with dat's y-pipe).

yay, dat's y-pipe is back (hopefully)

Dawgz, do you have the Cali Spec or the Fed spec? I thought the Dat's y-pipe doesn't fit the Cali spec headers, that's why I didn't buy it off another member here.
If it only fits Fed spec, I would consider this if someone else on this forum has a fed spec for sale.
For sale: Injen SRI, Randy's CAI extension, TRD Supercharger, TRD RSB, Jim's Torque Rod, 2003 Solara SLE with TRD Body Kit

my car is cali spec, but i have switched it over to Federal spec. (all u have to do is get the headers from the federal spec and switch them over. ur ecu will still read the a/f sensors correctly, but u might need a o2 simulator from urdusa.com (tybe B sensor) to fool the sensor after the cat.

this switch alone will net u ALOT of whp.

U can see from the before and after...the dark red line was the whp with the cali spec stuff on...right around 4800 the power would drop due to the exhaust being restrictive. After the cali spec to federal spec change + Dat's ypipe u can see how the power kept going. till 5300rpm....

After that, it was a fuel issue...i switched out the stock pump for a walbro 190lph and netted another 20whp. but i still have fuel issues uptop where im maxing out the stock injectors...but dont worry, i got my supra injectors going in soon =)

Check ur local junk yard/scrap yard.

any federal spec header from the 1mz will do...this means the gen 4 camry / gen 1-1.5 solara.

Ur scrap yard is most likely to have the camry stuff around.

^Thanks, but being here in the SFV, Sun Valley has the most scrap yards in the immediate area, and most of the cars I found were, expectedly, CA cars. Being that you were CA-spec at one time as well, where did you come up on said parts?

its pretty weird, i got a cali spec car, here in NJ...and the original owner of it lived in NY....so i dono why the hell it was a cali spec. And then some people in CALI got federal spec ones...useless!

anyway, i aquired my headers on here...i think i baught them off of JavaJoe when he switched to the JPP system. So mine are off his gen 4 camry. Im pretty sure he sold it to me....if my memory serves me correct.

You can usually find manifolds on ebay fairly cheap about 60-80 a set.

even if you can't find the fed spec headers in time, I still recommend getting this y-pipe before it totally goes out of production...that way you can take your time searching.
