woa_its_j3ff wrote:okay i'll go with 2 resonators removed.

any idea on how much it costs to get this done?

a local shop quoted me at most 100 bucks.

I know there is 2 resonators, where are they located?

I asked Dats, he says some people who remove the resonators quote they sound weird?

it's either this or a katana I'm looking to buy. choices choices....

where are the resonators located? do u know what a midpipe is?

the resonators are little elongated bulges on the exhaust piping. I went with 1 resonator when I had the exhaust shop do my 3" catback, removing all of the resonators might make it sound raspy. they charged me a little over $250 for the whole setup to give you an idea.

My friend's supra sounds deep...like a mix of v6 and v8 (well almost)...u must have tons of mods done to your supra to have a high pitched tone...I can't wait to find a non modified & non overpriced 97 Supra TT...one of the last japanese sport cars i want in my collection...

Keep the 2 but never go without it sounds like ass to anyone outside the car. I know mine did in the video I made.

for perspective. the car when i got it, 3" cat and cat back NO resonator stock Y-pipe and apexi ws muffler.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=jMkuWCy7jtk

this was mine with a Dats style Y-pipe 3" catback w/apexi ws and NO resonator. not a good sound i think.

with 1 massive resonator

people people....

lets keep it to greddy cat-backs as thats what the OP is asking about. Yes, depending on your setup with headers/y-pipe/different mufflers is like comparing apples to bowling balls... its not even remotely the same.

Let the OP decide and if you do have only 1 resonator removed WITH a greddy evo cat-back post up your video or sound clip.

keep on topic

just don't hack up an original evo midpipe...make sure you get custom piping done if you're removing resonators.

This is my old exhaust and I thought it sounded perfect- I would be wary of hacking it all up and having it sound like crap. It might not, but all Im saying is its throaty and classy the way it is right now, so I personally wouldnt touch it.

That's what i was goin' to do.
Keep my original Evo mid-pipe and get a custom straight mid-pipe made.
