Throttle Body Spacers & Overboring???

Postby woa_its_j3ff » Thu May 29, 2008 5:44 am

I'll just ask for those who are wondering:

Where can you purchase the TB spacer?
where many hate, few will love,
But for those who love,
they'll see what it's like to live.

I will copy and paste my standard PM reply

I get his question a few times a month ie a lot so this is a cut and paste if you have questions feel free to ask and Yes I like it and I think it is worth the cash. You will probably be most interested in redknights thread.

First off you need one from a toyota tachoma more to come from that. You should get it from www.hubcapsplus.com for best price about 80 bucks shipped read below.

OK here are some old threads

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK I got it in. The Home Depot did not have 65mm m8X 1.25 bolts just 70 and 60, so in a lapse of good judgment I got 60mm The fit on the top 2 holes no washer. I will be getting 70 mm eventually. 60 mm does NOT fit the bottom 2 holes. I used the 90 mm that came with it and 2 washers each from the kit; I will probably try 70 mm later on. Other than that install was easy.

How did it feel well it is hot out today so I cannot wait for evening to really have fun but I do feel like midrange has had a nice improvement and I would recommend it as a cheap mod for other people. Second gear feels a lot nicer and the powerband feels smoother. I will try to get pictures soon.

****** Update
On the top use m8 X 1.25 70mm long and on the bottom use 2 of the 90 mm long that came with the kit and 2 washers under each 90 and 1 under each 70mm. You will need to also buy 2 m8 washers for the top sense the kit only comes with 4.

The extra parts are for a tachoma all you need is the spacer bolts and gaskets here are a couple pics.

I used some channel locks but vice grips would work well too.

Easier way than that: thread two nuts to the stud (one on top of the other) and turn the bottom nut. That'll make the bottom one turn into the top nut, but since the top nut won't go anywhere, that'll give you the force to turn the stud.

That's what my friend showed me when I did mine.
