CP-e intake owners....

Postby SleeperSolara » Fri May 16, 2008 9:42 pm

I just installed my CP-e intake this evenin'.
Well when i was installin' my tunin' box for the intake, i was on the connector 11.
And the instruction's said to find the grey wire on pin 11.....
Well i looked and looked and couldn't find a grey wire on the plug.
So i counted and looked at the picture provided on the instructions and the wire was semi-tan wit a sliver stripe on the wire.
So i tapped into that and had crossed my fingers.
Then when i was all done i took it for a test drive, and everythin' was fine, no check engine light or anythin'.

So i'm askin' the SolaraGuy communtiy for any members that has a CP-e intake wit the tunin' box, am i right for tappin' in the semi-tan wit the silver stripe??
Can someone confirm that for me.
Thanks.

I didn't get the tunable version. But if you counted the wires on the right connector you should be fine, i would go by the numbers over the colors, i think i had a problem like that when i was installing mine too. As long as you counted the right numbered wire and the check engine light doesn't come on you should be alright.

As a note, tunable version or not...the connections are the same. The tuning is made within the black box with the extra port at the other end of the black box.

Because I have a gen 2...I don't want to risk saying something that can be different on your side. I'm sure someone nice will post a confirmation on this one.

I think my install had the grey wire at least that is what I see looking at some of my pics. I would bet if you got the wrong one your car would run like ass so you are probably good.

If you're not pulling any CEL's, you should be alright. I talked to Josh from cp-e when I installed mine and he said you'd know if something was wrong.

MAF in or out would be obvious, you'd hit a wall at 3k rpm. TPS, power and ground would be obvious... instant CEL. Hmmm... thought there were six wires but I can't remember the last one.

Verify that you are on the right connector, then check for the wire again.
Just because you are not pulling a cel, only means that you have the maf wires correct. The grey will be a monitor (forgot which one) of some sort. If you have the wrong wire you could possibly damage the black box, by tapping into too much voltage that is going to it. It only wants to see .5 volts or less. It should be there, I thought that my Camry was wired differently and I was wrong the same wires WERE there. I just didn't see them.

Not sure it is the only gray wire I could find in any of my pics.

Hmmm......
I looked at the connector last night again to checked and the wire under that black wit the orange stripe is a semi-tan wire wit silver bans on the wire every so inch....

Just a thought.
The only black w/orange I was able to find was on the (E7) connector
You should be looking on the (E11) connector for the grey pin 11 (?)
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Just trying to help. :D
And there are no semi-tan wit silver bans on my wiring diagrams.

Oh i see.
Well for my Connector Plug 11 there was a black wire wit a stripe, and then the semi-tan wit wit silver bans
Oh really??
Hmm..... that's weird.

I got it up it runnin' though Joe.
Oh the maps your emailed me didn't load up on the CP-e tuner.
It popped a message up that said: "Load Error"
I just used the map that was on the CD, and it runs fine now.
Thanks for the intake. :D
