What I wanna do...

Postby LEE337 » Fri May 02, 2008 12:52 am

Hey everyone, new here!

I have a 99 Solara SLE and i want to do a lot to it.
VIP body kit (post pics if you got'em)
20" wheels
HID Lights conversion
Air Bags
Lambo Doors (90 degrees)
Shaved door handles and trunk

I'm prolly gonna start with the body kit and go from there. Wheels and bags Im not to sure about. I dont mind spending the money on it. I just dont want to get ripped off. Any suggestions?

What i am about to say is ALL based on MY opinion:

the vip body kit is pretty good, but in my opinion, i tend to show off my performance more than looks. :]

20" rims are too big for my taste. 18" are perfect. maybe 19". but thats it. NEVER GET CHROME. :]

HID conversion. yeah.. i wanna do that too, but since im a student, i dont earn much. I'm just sticking to halogen for a while.

AirBags... ehh

Lambo door... ehh

shaved door handles and trunk. dont know how that would turn out.

to me, you seem like you really want a nice show car for car meets. :] I'll definitely see your car after and be like "dang..." haha.

hope your plans work out.

I'm in the progress of mine.

ok here is my input.

Nothing looks good on the car except a trd kit.
tint
lower it (only a few can bag it )
shave it for sure
renova grille is a must
rims NO chrome.. ugh.
definitely some hids
trd rsb
hids for sure
sound system if you'd like
maybe a muffler/exhaust if you want to
lambo doors... ehh. I dont like em much anymore but NVDIS1's doos look clean (id only get it if it'd.. flow with your car in a good way)
and after you are done with all that money...

get forged pistons, etc..... and go boost :evilbat:

these aren't civics.

if you want looks, you can get amazing looks with yourcar, if done right.
for performance .. its hard it isnt a performance vehicle, but like with any car, if you got the money and time, and manpower to get it far, then go for it.

I'm still glad to pick up the ladies in my slow car :) -for now.

welcome to solaraguy my friend. anything of your dreams can happen here, as long as you have the patience and $$$$....

C'mon give the guy a break...sounds like a basic VIP plan. The whole idea behind VIP is visual first and performance (if any) later.

Unless you meant "VIP" as in the body kit as opposed to the style?

because there's a BIG difference between:

"VIP style body kit"

and

VIP STYLE

WELL THIS IS WHY IM DOING A BODY KIT FIRST!!
Image

I PUT IT BACK TOGETHER THE BEST I COULD.
Image

My front bumper and headlamps were the only thing injured in this tradgic accident. I dont plan on racing it, but I do want it to be fast. I also dont want that rice burner sound. I want a deep, low sound, and loud! I would like this to eventually be a show car. If I'm gonna build a race/drft car its gonna be a supra!
