Resonator ?

Resonator ?

Postby GzNutz » Wed Apr 09, 2008 12:00 am

I removed my resonator two days ago with the hope of freeing up some higher rpm hp. The removal did make the sweep of rpm's between 4-6K quicker while in higher gears. Drove for two days with no problems.

On my way to work this evening I noticed my car was accelerating on its own with a idle rpm around 1300 instead of the sub 1K. Has any one encountered this? I'm hoping this is just a result in loss of back pressure and that unhooking battery might be a way to reset the idle. Any ideas... besides putting the resonator back?

i did the same thing but i just sealed it with duct tape and put them back in...

try disconnecting the battery for 10min then reconnect.
go driving like there is no tomorrow and let the ecu relearn
ur habits along with more air.

works better for me although its a bit louder.

Excellent! The disconnecting of the battery worked wonders. Idle rpm's are back down to where they should be. Throttle seems more responsive. The stock exhaust has a nice tone but I can't wait for an un-raining day to get that TRD muffler on! With the stock exhaust I noticed no drone what so ever... just louder when accellerating.

My butt dyno said the same thing. its very much more responsive and seems to downshift smoother too..
