I know im probably getting pretty annoying by now. But ive come across another problem.

i recently just upgraded my cpe box from the non tunable to the tunable.
Well last night i was trying to connect it to my laptop and I was starting the program. I didnt mess with any of the values or do anything really.
My car was just in park and idling while I was just on the computer and i noticed my car started to idle weird and then it just shut off.

i was confused and then i tried to start it again. It starts for a split second but immediately shuts off. Now im totally confused and have no clue wtf just happened.

i have work at 5am so im gonna figure it out tomorrow. Im freaking out yet again. =(

ok so i tried that it didnt work.

I even try to give it a little gas... and nothing actually happens when i do that.
it just pauses and gets quiet and actually sounds like it stalls a lot quicker.

i am at a loss. I dont even know where to start.
I was thinking maybe my fuel pump went out on me or something but i can definitely hear it.

I would pull the cpe box, it seems like its something related to that... is that something you can try?

so i unplugged my MAF and started it...

it starts and actually stays on .. sometimes...

obviously these codes popped up, im assuming cuz i unplugged the maf

P0110 – Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor circuit malfunction
· Open or short in IAT sensor circuit
· IAT sensor malfunction
· PCM malfunction

P0101 – Mass Airflow (MAF) circuit range/performance problem
· MAF sensor malfunction

am i correct in thinking the problem might be cuz of my MAF? and i should try to get a new one?

i would think it has somthing to do with your connections on the cpe box to those of your ECU wires. try this

A new MAF is available at autozone for about 80 dollars. I am still thinking the problem lies with the clips on the CPE box this is exactly what my car did.

While you have it apart check the connections and solder them like I show in my sig and feel free to try a new MAF.

Lets see:
It ran before you tried to link it with your computer, right.
I would check connections, verifying the colors and secureness at the CP-e. (good call)
Use only the 9 pin serial to link with the Modifier, no usb to serial adapter.
With the key on and the engine not running READ the settings from the ECU. Everything should be zero until you get to the high rpm's and high voltages. Those cell's will be negative numbers starting at -5. -6.5, -7. as you get higher in rpm's. If they are not that make them that. You can call me to verify the numbers and the voltages.
As for the codes you are pulling, not to worry those will go away or you can clear them.

Under the Program setup tab. Be sure the "send changes immediately" and the "Allow changes to RPM-TPS Chart" boxes are not highlighted.
Also there should be a stored file like solara_gen_1.tun.

ok so i got it working.

I switched to the stock intake and took out the black box and just plugged the bypass module in its place.

im going to call cpe tomorrow and try to figure out whats going on.

i just dont get why it would stop working. Ive been running with the cpe + sc for a while now.
I ran maybe a day or so with the tunable box. It happened when i connected my laptop to it. So that must have something to do with it.

Thank you again to all those who have helped..

Did you ever get you EGR tube CEL code figured out? I am looking at getting another stock one and have someone build me a new EGR tube for my setup. Maybe in titanium!
