Perhaps this is where i read it:

The MAF customizer through injen technologies on the CPE site

Apparently the two are somehow linked...

Again, please correct me if i'm wrong

That box is to correct problems associated with injen intakes on the Mazda 6. It is not made or endorsed by Injen. For the Solara the CPE intake is the entire system with a 3.5 inch pipe making the MAF read wrong and the system lean out. The injen on the other hand uses the same pipe diameter as stock so the MAF has no problems and the stock ECU can handle the difference of air with ease.

Look here for the toyota stuff

That makes a little more sense. If it is a Genuine Injen on his car, then he shouldn't have problems related to the SRI itself but rather the connecting components.

Always the possibility of having a knock-off Injen though, unless of course bought through a certified dealer

Ne-ways Good luck with your problem

Hopefully the solutions these guys provided works for you

me, i'm going SAFC II 8)
