Reverse making noise

Reverse making noise

Postby Grnarowana » Tue Mar 11, 2008 9:18 am

It's a 1999 Toyota Solara v6 manual with 123,XXX

Recently I've been hearing a click noise when I go in reverse, and it's not the clank sound when you hit the reverse. The time lapse is about every 3 seconds and it'll go "click" as the car moves in reverse. it'll get louder as I let the clutch go higher. The noise seems like it's coming from the rear. It won't make the noise if I don't move, obviously.

Anybody have this problem?

have you checked the clutch cable? is something lose or overtight/not tight enough?
where many hate, few will love,
But for those who love,
they'll see what it's like to live.

I'm not quite the mechanic, but the clutch was replaced at least 1.5 years ago and it never made the noise. I start noticing it about 2 weeks ago.

I thought it could have been the bushings or something.
