far be it from me to say they are the best, but I use duralasts from Autozone. Apparently they are lifetime free brake pads if u go with the warranty and bring your used pads back to the store every time.

Or so my friend says. I havent actually gone through a set of pads yet, cuz i put the pads on somewhat recently. Running Duralast Golds right now though, and they stop me pretty good.

Just touching on the "price" part. :)

Edit: My friend has gone through 2 sets of pads on his honda, and he's using the same brand pads as me, Duralast golds. He say's he got his following pad sets for free through the lifetime warranty. I guess i'll be able to say for sure once my own pads run down, and I bring em in for an exchange.

Bendex ceramic from advance auto parts lifetime warranty free wear replacement and they are almost exactly the same as toyota about 90 dollars for front and rear.

I've been using Akebono ceramics and LOVE them. Great stopping power and zero brake dust. They're inexpensive too.

You really don't need ceramic brake pads unless your doing hardcore stopping all the time. You'd be fine with semi-metallic, either OEM or Hawk pads are pretty decent.

You don't need ceramics, but they are definitely cleaner and quieter than semi-metallic. I think they work better than OEM, but that might just be me.

Sticking with Toyota pads should be fine, but I personally use & prefer PBR XBG / Axxis Metal Masters (they're the same, along with a few others). They're reasonably priced, have awesome grip, little fade, not too much noise and relatively little dust for a simi-metallic.
