looking at buying solara, some issues

Is it logical to say that a clutch starts out tight and a lot of resistance, but over time gets worn out, and becomes light and little resistance when you press on it?

Not really the case.......it's all about the tension on the clutch return spring located on the pressure plate.....I did a clutch on my former 96' Camry and it was soft right out of the box.....it depends what clutch you buy for your car.....generally sportier clutch kits are stiffer then OEM ones designed for econo-box four bangers.
From what I know about OEM clutches....Hondas are usually soft....Toyotas vary(sportier car=stiffer) I owned a few Camrys and all had clutches on the soft side, but non nearly as soft as some Hondas that Ive driven....and I owned a 2001 Altima (shitbox!), and it was very stiff.

FYI.....generally a clutch is going bad when it starts to slip(usually in 3rd or 4th), or when it grabs all the way up on the pedal.

Factory clutch 150,000 miles still gives a workout in traffic.

my 99' doesn't have a transponder key also. I bring it with me when I surf and it always works afterward.

The clutch is dead - I had a dead clutch on the freeway - if you have to rev to like 2500 just to go on 1st gear - the clutch needs replacing -$800 -$1000. I did mine for about $850

The cars not available anymore. Thanks for all the feedback on how the clutch should be and the key fob.

I'll keep a lookout for some other good ones in the future.
