well I would like to start by telling everyone here that I am a dumbass. like literally what I did today was call my buddy up and ask them where I can put the red power wire since i didnt understand the tutorial. So tard tells me I can hook it up to my stereo power cord thingy (12v wire thats always on so the gauges are always on) and I did that, what happens next? flippin sparks come flying in from my dash.. and I SHORTED my NEW PIONEER HU! like the emotions i felt.. was I was to mad/ stunned to even show emotion, surprisingly i didnt hit anything or raise my voice.. yall know that deep pissed off ness that we all feel sometimes...

anyways since I didnt understand the first tutorial in the tut section, I need help installing the power wire. I dunno where and how to put it. Do you sauder it on? I dunno how to attach it, and where to attach it? The instructions it came with looks like a 9th grader was trying his hardest to sound professional.. I didnt understand it lol.. help would be much appreciated! thanks!

PS: I'm going down to circuit city tomorrow to hopefully replace my HU, and also I broke the gauges so I'm ordering new ones tonight, after typing that I had to go hurt something, :)

if you are asking where to connect the hot wire for the gauges, i just installed mine this last weekend...it might have taken me 30 minutes to install and put back together! i connected mine to my parking light fuse, so that they come on just like my oem gauge lights do!

wiring to a fuse can be pretty shady- personally I would solder the wire into the positive wire for your cig lighter- thats how my aftermarket gauges are wired, no issues!

I just used the red power wire for the gauges to my cigarette tray light.
Only issue i had was it cuttin' off power cause all i did was shove the power and ground wires into the cigarette tray light plug on the back.
I also electrical taped the wires to the ones on the cigarette tray light plug wires.

my wiring for my a-pillar gauges, part of it is to the fuses, others is to 02 sensor and whatnot... so far ive never had issues, and ive had my set of gauges for roughly a year or so.. nearly.

sorry to be naive but where exactly does the power wire go? Yall suggested the cig lighter wire but their strapped on to a harness. There really are no loose wires to connect to. Pics would really help :) I know there's a tutorial but I couldnt find anything on it on how to literally install the wires.

btw, can I just place the power wire under a fuse? As in take the fuse out and strip enough wire to slip under it while the fuse can still fit in its slot? Is that possible/ safe? I think thats what themexguy did and I just didn't get it?

Solder to the Green wire with silver striping on the Brown harness.

Thats the wire is hot only when the gauge lights are on, which is perfect for the guages.

Look under Reverse glows under gauge cluster here for details

okay now I fully understand :) wow I am learning so much here.. I would never be able to do this a month ago :)!

so is this acceptable?

cut the green wire with silver stripe, shave some plastic and twist green wire together with red power wire, solder; then wrap heavily with electric tape?

place ground wire under the nut behind the gauges?

is that acceptable? thanks!

You can use tape, but why not get some heat shrink tubing? They sell them at all the auto parts stores...all you do is slip it over the soldered area and use a lighter or heat gun to shrink it.
