ok, searched around and learned alot bout upgrading brakes short of a BBK. from what i can tell SS lines are a must. i geting the impression that the furthest i should go with the rotors is slotted because of problems with drilled ones. i found the slotted ones but was also looking for the brembo blanks on tirerack but didnt seem to find them, maby im lookin for the wrong thing :-? . im also not sure what pads to go with for best stopping consistancy. Any help is appreciated.

on the street, ALL the different types of rotors will be exactly the same, be they blank, slotted, drilled, etc.

now, about the debate about what each type does and what is good, what is bad.....well, I think that debate has never been finalized and it probably never will be

so basically, do whatever you think will look nice since our cars probably will never reach the point where it matters

as for ss brake lines- they are like day and night, a GREAT mod for sure....

and then there's the option of getting the eric sol supra TT front brake caliper relocation kit as well...but you'll have to get lucky and snatch one up if somebody sells theirs

yeah ive been lookin for thoes, i know gino was gonna make some but he never did. i am guilty of wanting it to look good but ive read about the drilled rotors cracking and warping faster then just slotted and oem.

Beware of cheap ebay rotors. I bought a pair of SR rotors u see on ebay and went to pick them up local. When i got there i could tell the company was just using a shity drill press to drill the rotors. Soon as winter hit my rotors warped and i chucked them.

I put a pair of slotted drilled rotors on my buddies TL not sure if they were anodized nikel or silver zinc plated, but hes had them for a year and there is not one sign of rust on them. Plus his hubs are not painted there just exposed metal, and there still shininng.

You pay for what u get!

ebay rotors aren't all bad...I ran a set that I bought used (since shipping to canada is a killer for stuff so heavy, o I let somebody else deal with that first) and I ran them for 4 years (x-drilled, slotted) until they finally warped about a half year ago. up to this point though, they were fine, but by the same token, I consider myself a pretty good driver and I hardly ever use my brakes, instead using momentum to turn the car

the brakes have done a lot of 140-150mph slow downs though, so that hasn't helped lol

so, long story short, the looked great and worked great, with my only complaint being that they zinc weren't coated so they did rust and I had to paint the hubs

the quality of ebay rotors have only increased in this time- many of them come with free zinc coating as well as warrantees

infact, I just picked up a set of rotors with a 1 year warrantee against warping or cracking....the fact that they are willing to give that kind of warrantee (since even blank rotors can be warped within a couple weeks if driven crazily) shows that they stand behind their products (in my mind at least)

I am running brembo slotted rotors, hawk hps pads and goodrich stainless lines- the lines are on the front only since the rears were the wrong thread size and we couldnt get them on, but it sitll made a huge difference.

I have always run hawk pads- theyre great. A little noisy when hot but otherwise I love them.

A while Ago I got brembo drilled off ebay turned out to be brembo blanks that were drilled by the seller so be careful of that.
