Tough to Say Goodbye...

Tough to Say Goodbye...

Postby JadedEMOlush » Fri Dec 07, 2007 11:53 pm

Well guys... after experiencing all 4 Gen's of the Solara.

1999 V6 SLE Diamond white pearl (Gen 1)
2002 V6 SLE Lunar Mist Metallic (Gen 1.5)
2004 V6 SLE Lunar Mist Metallic (Gen 2)
2007 V6 SLE Blizzard Pearl (Gen 2.5)

I have decided to throw in the towel... and get the car I have been in love with since I was about 12, when I saw a Gen 1 GS in the Six Flags Parking lot in New Jersey...

I purchased an 07 GS350 AWD V6 303 HP Glacier Frost Mica.

The Solara is a truely amazing automobile, and I sure did lose a lot of money constantly upgrading to the new Gens... but I love to drive, and loved the solara. I'll still stop in all the time to say hi to everyone, and check up on the news on the Solara Front... and I'm just hoping this will be my last purchase for some time(Going to shoot for 7 years).

Thanks to EVERYONE for all the help over the years, as I have even gotten to meet some of you in person... its been a long windy journey, and I'm sure it won't end here.

The Lexus GS, especially the new one looks really nice and I like yours with that paint, so shiny.

You must have lost the most on that last 2007. You didn't have it long.

You are also pretty young. The GS came out around 1993, and if you were 12 (let's say then), the most you could be now is 26. Who's buying you all these cars? Do they have any extra money left?

The Gen 1 was ugly too. No comparison to what you just got.

HA... MCO... you got it... I am 28 (GS came out in 93, when I was 12 and just entered the 8th grade)

Yes... I took a HUGE hit on the 07... one I had a tough time swalling, but I already had 31000 miles or so on the car(somewhere around there) and it was either get out now... or not get out ever.

Believe it or not... the money was all mine, and I am NOT a rich man, just obsessed with cars. No college degrees, but have always been in sales. (Technology sales for 6 years, avg 45k salary) (Real Estate sales for 3 years avg 55k salary) (Business sales current Telecom )

Long story short, I havent saved anything, lol... but you live once, and I love to drive. Can't take the money with you, so why not. I BY no means fit the profile of a Lexus driver... but oh well its not about that, its about what you enjoy.

And as for the extra money, sure, YOU got it... all extra $13.00 I have at the end of the month. :D
