TRD muffler questions

I had some questions about the TRD muffler.

Does the exhaust tip look like this?

Part number: PTR19-33970-04

Image

Also, are all 2002-2006 Camry trd mufflers the same including Solara and are the 4cyl and 6 cyl the same?

Does this look right? I know a guy that wants to sell me this, but I don't know if it's the right one.

[edit]Hmm... after searching, it looks like this is for a Gen 1/1.5 Solara, maybe.

PTR19-33970-04 is for '97-01 Camry V6 (not Solara)
PTR19-06990-03 is for '99-03 Solara (All)

TRD Sport Muffler System (Solara 04+ Camry 02-06)
PTR06-06040-25
Notes: OLD PART #PT901-17400-25

TRDparts4U is a good place to get stuff (bought all my TRD stuff there when I bought my car)

That's the one I have on my 04 solara.

You should be fine.

Someone told me that this one is the older TRD muffler. I bought it right when I got my car in '04.

Looks like a gen 2 gen 1 does not have an oval tip and it only had one hanger on the front.

Yeah look like a Gen 2...but if the sller refers to a Gen 1 TRD Muffler...maybe the pics isn't relevant.

Cosmic...be sure if the seller based is sell on the pic or on the part number.

Part number isn't Gen 2
Picture is a Gen 2 (be sure you see a TRD emblem on the muffler tip)

That doesn't look anything like mine for the V6 Gen 2. Maybe it's for a 4-bamger? :-?

It looks like the one I bought...no good pics though

But Jeff is right...it isn't oval. Mine is round (Maybe the muffler rear pic you show is too close)
Image

I think Silviachick have an oval stock muffler (she has a I4)

Whoa - Funky muffler tip Sebas! :o

Mine's once piece and not split like that on the tip... plus it's got an oval design and cut angle that matches the bumper.

So actually - looking at my old pics again and the muffler he's posting here look a lot closer - except for the tip. :-?

Why so many different TRD mufflers anyway? Just how many did they make for our rides or is that some kind of weird design evolution?

I think there is the one with TRD on the side and the other on the top (like yours Jeff) Mine not seems to be a real muffler like yours with this smaller tube in it.... I got the cut angle...

Well, let's just say that even Texans import a lot of foreign crap... but we won't get into THAT discussion here! ;)
(TRD is actually in Irvine, CA)

Looks like yours just has a slip-on TRD chrome sleeve on someone else's' muffler man! Sorry, but it just doesn't look like a TRD manufacture job.

There was an old discution on that...there is plenty of both model. I'll have to search again but I ask directly TRD regarding the shape and TRD emblem diffrent location...have been told that it was normal or OK. I'll dig it out.

The muffler I posted is here in Texas too and it looks kinda like Sebas with the inner tube at the tip.

So it seems that muffler I posted will fit?

How much do you think is a fair price on that muffler? It's probably used, but it looks new, I think.

The one I posted has TRD on the side, just like Sebas.

The lower price I saw mine was and still is 400$ ! Used...don't know how to calculate fair price but easily split in 2 or 3.
