That is EXACTLY what I was going to post... well, the words may be different, but the topic was the same.

How's this any different than an Injen? You could put a better cone filter on and it's the same thing.

Actually - he's not too far off with that comment - as far as performance is concerned at least. Injen only makes some noise and no performance gains over OEM with a TRD filter! ;)

Injen does have BETTER performance gains than OEM w/TRD filter....That's why Injen dynoed around 10hp and TRD around 3-4hp. Think about how restrictive the stock box is, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.
You wanna race and find out???

Maybe Gen1... but Gen 2 was not restrictive enough to see a real difference in stock airbox vs SRI. 1-2whp. That was with the Injen size and the 3.5". Only with tuning do you get a boost.

So shiny pipe or black pipe... no diff. Both BlingLights (haha) and Injen are mandrel bent so makes no diff except the filter. So unless you can spring for a cp-e, buy that ebay and get a better cone. Slap an Injen sticker on and you've saved yourself some cash.

Except the ebay intake does not have a MAF adapter unless you are a big fan of electrical tape.

Larry - I'm gonna have to smack you bro!! :-?

This is a Gen 2/2.5 thread for starters... and N/A 3.3V6 will not/cannot perform any better that OEM airbox with the TRD filter and the baffle removed. ANYONE can fudge dyno numbers to their advantage. LOL!

Just messing around, Jeff

Has anyone ever actually dynoed them both? I know Injen did test both because June (my wife) had the K&N (which is pretty much the same as TRD) in when Paul at Injen did the dyno runs. If Paul did alter the stats, why would he only do such a small amount? We're talking about 10hp max. I would've bumped it up more if I was going to cheat. Does that mean CP-e altered their numbers too? LOL!
In actuality, it may not be that much difference on the street (I know), but on the chart it does show otherwise.

Yeah... too late for Jeff to run them. You can't go back to the INjen when the SS box is tuned to the 3.5".

But Jeff's butt dyno told the tale.
