The gen 1's with V6 and 5MT were closer to 3200 lbs. One could order a SE V6 without sunroof to save 50lbs but I don't think there are many out there. I know of one guy that I bought my S/C from.

The V6 5MT Camry's from that vintage were actually a little lighter than the Solara's.

I guess this is why most solara's come stock with a front strut bar. What makes a solara so heavy the engine or the body?

i'd also imagine the steel reinforcement beams in the doors also account for a good potion of that over-expected weight. the convertables (w/ the re-inforced chassis) also will weigh more than just the regular coupe.

the number i've heard and always think of when asked how much my car weigh ~3200 lbs. though i wouldnt know if that' 'dry' weight w/o fluids, or if that's with everything filled to the brim.

who wants to goto a weigh station and find out?

I had an OE full size spare which probably weighed 40lbs+ itself. Spare in addition to jack tools is probably worth 50 lbs.

one day I'm going to take my car to the junk yard...the type that does the weighing in and then weighing out...

I'd think it should come out to around 3200 or so...or at least my camry will....if I take out my 100lb system...lol

the solara...sle trim and all...probably closer to 3400 without a system
