Geez, I thought my wife's was an SLE but I guess after reading this it must be an SE, because it has a manual, but it also has leather, CD, cruise, V6, moonroof, trunk spoiler, 16's, pretty much everything listed for the SLE except the coin holder. Below the ashtray is just a power plug, but will soon house the inputs to a car computer.

Just to mention, I really like the IS300 look, especially from the front and it has a really nice dashboard, but my wife isn't interested because she likes 2 doors. The G35, however, is definitely worth ditching a Solara for, but alas, we aren't interested in spending that kind of money and we are happy with the Solara.

Are you sure the SLE's didn't come with manuals?

Positively absolutely not. That is an SE V6. The easiest way to tell is if it has a manual HVAC unit (SE) or an auto climate control (SLE).

The coin/pen tray dealy is part of the climate control unit. Its just a space filler because the unit is smaller than the manual HVAC unit.

I have a theory on that. Maybe the car was damaged and they replaced the badges with new ones for the SLE instead of the SE when they painted it. It is of course, possible that someone dropped a manual into an SLE, but I think it is less likely.

Oh, I just realized that you said auto HVAC, too. So my explanation doesn't work.

Ours is an SE I guess because we don't have the automatic HVAC nor the very valuable coin tray. Man, I'm really jealous of that coin tray.

Yup that is why it sucks to have a SLE no manual trans

*sigh* Yes I know that it is suckish with the automatic, but its still nice and you could always do a tranny swap. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the SE have black trim inside, where as the SLE has wood trim?

I have an SLE. I thought that was for a pen and a few papers. Seems more of a classy option versus coin trays which seems kind of poor lol. I dont know...figured I'd givwe my input on the subject.

Jon pretty much said everything. I would like to add that the SLE came with side air bags, heated mirrors, a garage door control (located in the sun glasses slot), an auto dimming rearview mirror, full size SLE spare rim (SE came with the alloy black rim...even if you purchased the SLE rims), a trunk rug, and a rug stopper clip for the drivers rug. I have a 99 SLE and 99 SE so if you have any questions I could step outside and take another look. The SE seems to be fully loaded with SLE rims and all but upon closer inspection the SE lacks quite a few things compared to the SLE.

For 99, I believe the climate control is the only feature on the SLE that isn't available on the SE.

^^ yep that can the coin tray above the ashtray below the climate control.......

i like the coin tray, it also has storage for a pen :D
