STOCk v6 power, CPE dyno charts...

Postby Sebas007 » Thu Jun 28, 2007 6:33 pm

My stock Gen 2 gives me 185whp but CP-e gives out low numbers tooon their stock Gen 2 graph...samething with their CP-e installed dyno graph...bottom line...every dyno will give different result...so it's more a question of proportion.

I agree that if you make the rule of 80% of hp = whp than you should have around 160whp stock

Ouch, those numbers are weak. But whoever said Solara's were sports cars?

Forget the numbers and just enjoy the luxurious ride :sweet:

Stock 5spd I have dynod 156, my auto felt considerably slower, and it ran about a second lower 1/4 with a shittier trap.

Well - I've yet to dyno mine since the JP headers - we're waiting a bit first, but once we feel everything is locked-in right, then we'll test to compare to stock.

I've messed with my car so much that its now FAR from being a "luxury" ride! In fact, my GF says she gets car sick in it now and that since I installed the headers & Y-pipe, she can't stand it because its too noisy (it is pretty loud - LOL!) and I still have the OEM resonator on it! ;)

I really think that a 5-speed manual would greatly help this engine though - especially with a heavy car like the Gen 2.

i know im resurrecting an old thread.. but just to confirm some numbers cuz i thought one 133whp was rather low too. Especially coming from 200 @ the crank. But again every car depends and certain scenarios vary from dyno to dyno and the environmental factors etc.

These are numbers for an automatic v6.

cpe - 133 WHP

xerd dynoed an automatic v6
129 WHP

This guy dynod his car. All it had was the cpe and matched the gains from the charts.

Again im sure most everyone knows this already. But i just wanted to confirm the numbers and to bring some relief to the doubters. Cuz i still dont wanna believe it either .. haha

how disheartning :( . but im actually not surprised, my old muscle car had an auto 3 speed and the loss through it was staggering its was close to about 40%.

given mine has a few kinks to work out still but it doenst feel very fast even with the S/C. more motivation to 5 speed :D .

If I could dyno my stock 03 Solara SLE for free I'd post up the dyno sheet to see what kind of power it puts down. If there's enough interest you guys could PM me and maybe we could all put money down (including myself) for the team. My car recently had a major tune up including timing belt and water pump so this would be a good basis for everyone to go off of.

There was one guy that dynoed his car with just a cpe or really close to that and got the same numbers they did.

this is a stock 5spd @ 156whp.

Friggin Automatic!! haha

imo theres no way that a stock crappy auto tranny would make close to the same power. even 155 is pretty disappointing seeing how other cars can make higher numbers stock and have a lower rated hp at the fly. I dont think that cpe rated our cars lower than they should be. With that logic they wouldve done the same with the other cars on their site. They have the mazda 3 4 cyl making the same whp. lol

so if we can get a stock solara thats running well on the dyno then we can confirm whats really goin on with the stock #s
