STOCk v6 power, CPE dyno charts...

Postby Dawgz » Tue Jun 26, 2007 9:10 pm

so i was looking around on CPE and saw the solara dyno charts...stock solara v6 for them ran at 133whp and 142 torque...

So what gives? i know there is a little error here and there for dynos but damn 133whp? I was originally thinking the v6 puts out 150-160whp on the Auto tranny.

anyone got any insight on this?

When I got my 'Lara I sold my old car to a friend. Old car = gen1 Ford Probe v6 5-speed. The Probe put out something around 145 hp, and the few times we raced I really didn't pull on him.

It is all about what gets to the wheels, which means if you have a 15 year old technology slushbox...

theres nothing unusual about the numbers. Its not like its a powerful or fast car by any means.

those numbers a ridiculously low.

from my dyno experiences, the 1mz puts down some decent power even through an auto. And even if hp isn't high, the torque is always there.

and I've said this before, but....of course CPE is going to post lower numbers.

hell no

my 94 1mz- which puts out 10bhp less than you guys put down 160whp w/ simple bolt-ons. the most noticeable one being a custom y-pipe.

If you tell me that I picked up almost 30whp using bolt-ons, then you know nothing about our cars.

w/ a fully exhaust + y-pipe and a cai, 15whp could be possible, which puts a stock 94 1mz at 145whp- which is very reasonable. now, add 5whp to that for a newer motor + newer toyota tuning, = 150whp, which is also reasonable.

I put down more power than that when my knock sensors were going grazy. 133whp my ass.

take your car to the dyno and I'll put money on the fact that not one of your cars (running properly) puts down that little power.
