Will the mid-pipe/catalytic still work even though the flex pipe has been moved?

My mid pipe is still intact my only advice and please listen is have them angle it down a little bit after the first weld nearest the rear flange tward the flex mine still rubs a little.

Other than that it feels great I love the power.

For the connections to the manifold use FEL-PRO part number 60674 catalytic converter gasket for mercury villager v6 183 cu inch with one bolt hole opened up a bit. FOt the flanges to the cat and exhaust use FEL-PRO 60679 from a 1985 Mazda V6. You need 2 of each and the mazda one will NOT work well with the manifold so don't bother trying.

here are pics of repair you should have them tilt the section after the rear flange down a little bit mine is strill rubbing a little.

Q: so how much did it cost you to fix it Midias?
A: $100 even done with stainless steel rod and proper gas

Q: what exactly are the parts you listed for?
I. FEL-PRO part number 60674 catalytic converter gasket for mercury villager v6 183 cu in
II. FEL-PRO 60679 from a 1985 Mazda V6

A:
I. For the flange connection between the stock manifold and the y pipe it requires you open one hole up about a 1/16 I did it with some snips. IT is a perfect metal gasket with a non rust covering on the outside.

II. For the flange between the y pipe and a catalytic converter OR the Y pipe and the test pipe.

You need 2 of each.

You are correct the stock gasket is more of an O ring and the stock Y pipe has a recessed area in which it sits so you need something new for the new Y pipe

Just letting you guys know Im still here. I cooled off and all but still selling my car.

I am getting the other pipes that were forgotten fixed and shipped out asap sometimes next week when the shipping sevice isnt clog from the bad weather (I feel more comfortable shipping expensive stuff when the system isnt stress. Dont want to loose stuff now).

I only paid 13 bucks to fix per pipe. Thats not any discounts nor an illegal shop. Once these last pipe are shipped I'll be able to send some money.

You guys will be the only few 13s to have these pipes. My 500 dollar custom one was cut up to make yours and I wasnt even told about it... So Im alittle not happy on that. I think I have 1 left (that was rewelded to MY!!!!! way) and Ill end up putting it on ebay or what ever.

Hey Dat, if you have 1 that is fixed already, would you be willing to do a trade? I havent fixed or installed mine yet, but it would be much easier and cheaper for both of us if we could just trade. How much is shipping? Please pm me some pics of your fixed pipe. Thanks.

No way, you claim to have an extra pipe that is corrected, now you aren't willing to do a trade with the people that helped you get the group buy going in the first place, just to make it right??? This is BS! Come on Dat, I thought you were a straight up guy. I figured this was a simple solution for at least 1 of us, am I asking too much of you?

I have been patient and respectful with you from the beginning and was willing to pay shipping, how about a little respect in return?

I dont have any of the pipes with me. NONE. My original pipe is gone and all of the pipe was already sold but one might be canceled before it is sent out. If it does then we can work something out when I am handle the last pipe if the person force me to return their money. Until then I have NOTHING . I have no pipe nor anything thing else right now. I already and STILL putting in money to get you guys some refund. We just have to wait and see when those last existing pipes come in.

I stop believing in respect on this forum. Everyones always talking crap about each other.

This is the comment that set me off...you would be willing to sell a pipe that was fixed properly instead of offering that pipe to someone that already purchased one that didnt fit. Do you see where I'm coming from? Now you are saying that there is no extra pipe. I'm just seeing 2 different stories here and want to get the facts straight, thats all.

I will wait on it and hopefully be first in line if one frees up for trade.

hey Midias, I got a question for you, You told me about what gasket needs to go between the stock manifold and the new custom y-pipe; what gasket goes between the y-pipe and the test pipe (or cat if you chose). But you didn't tell me what gasket to use between the test pipe (or cat) and the stock mid-pipe (or pipe leading into the resonator, whatever you wanna call it). Do we just use the stock one there? or is there a different one?

I used the same gasket on both sides of my cat. It may differ a bit between exhaust to exhaust but with my custom application I had the same flanges on both sides. So I would say if your catback is smaller pipe than the new Y pipe get villiger gasket if it is the same size get the mazda one. Or just get a stock one if that is what you need. personally I used the mazda one.
