I have a maf sensor just like that at my house, are there any advantages to using it because I was thinking of figureing out the wiring and your pics show it clearly.

^ a smaller mafs increases air flow through the intake side of the fire breathing "air pump", almost essential for boosted applications.

if anyone here is into the 2003+ cobras, you know maf sensors are sellin like hotcakes bc of huge horsepower gains plus low low price. open to a random ad page in any mustang/ford/5.0 mag and its almost gauranteed to be on it

It's pretty easy to figure out. First, how much hp are you at? For the guys pushing 250+ hp to the wheels, I think there is improvement by using a Supra TT MAF. trd4life (Gabe) is the guy to talk to, we've been working on this project for a while, maybe he can help with parts. He helped me to get a 2JZ-GE MAF and a 2JZ-GTE MAF. I can tell you not to waste your time with a 2JZ-GE MAF but the GTE MAF is a definite improvement. Thanks to my friend gman with the wiring diagrams from Toyota, I developed a wiring diagram to install the TT MAF. Rizal got his running first and mine is now installed and the car has never run better. If your not running fairly large injectors, you'll just create problems for yourself though. Especially with an SAFC which is limited in the A/F adjustment range. With my 370cc injectors, the TT MAF is a great match. SAFC trims are negligable except at idle.

Bit of warning, please do not go get a TT MAF and just stick it on your engine thinking it will make your car faster. There are many things involved, you could cause your car to run lean and damage the motor. If someone feels they are in the position to benifit from this and wants to continue the discussion, lets start another thread, I hate to jump off the topic of Rizal's Tobasco MONSTER!! I think the TT MAF was the perfect addition to his car! /me drools waiting to see this creation come to life! Large turbo spooling up - BOV chiming in in perfect harmony! Oh what a feeling Toyota / brought to you by Arrieta Motorsport!
Please stop by and rate my ride.

I'm currently at a road block. The car won't seem to start with the Greddy emanage ultimate hooked up. Good news is the car runs and idles fine on the stock ECU. I'm currently working with Greddy techs to resolve some issues with their unit. I'll keep you guys updated. :-?

Dammit Rizal. I was thinking of asking about how this was all going the other day and figured since it'd slipped under the radar for a while I'd let you just come back with a whole bunch of pictures and some banging ish to leave us all blinded at the completed 1MZ-FTE. Then the news of the troublesom Greddy unit. I'll pretend I didn't hear, and wait patiently...

sorry for the late post rizal... everything looks pretty good under the hood there. definitely doing big things for the 1MZ guys!

my main concern with your setup is that piggyback youre running. although the e manage ultimate is well, the ultimate piggyback, i have a feeling that the setup you are running is beyond it's capabilities. Tony (T66 fully built 1MZ camry) went through 2 or 3 differnet piggy backs and was unable to ever get his car running right. Even the Haltech standalone couldnt really handle it, now he is running the AEM standalone and the car is running better. I would really really really recommend you get on toyotanation and contact tony the tiger. the guy is a tuning genius when it comes to the 1MZFE and his setup is very very similar to yours. My general impression is just that the e manage will not be enough for your setup. The mechanical stuff looks awesome though.

^^ 2nd for stand alone ecu, maybe motec or aem. however, i heared aem had some issue with scion (or newer toyota), maybe you need to find out if there are other newer toyota users using AEM unit. (my guess because OBDII + igntionless system, returnless fuel system + pollution friendly complicated the problem) -> those are different from gen3

good luck
